Gifts Worth Giving

To create art or craft is one thing - and most artists have a drive and inherit need to paint, draw, sculpt, etc. To create something desirable, enjoyable, pleasurable....that's quite another thing altogether. It is known as the "anxiety factor", or "what-if-no-one-likes-this" syndrome.

So, you can imagine I had a nice big smile when I saw one of my polymer clay pendants featured in an Etsy Treasury. Click on the image below to view until Saturday, November 10th!

And, then click on the banner to visit Pop-o-licious Art by Kris Jean. She rocks.

Karma Made Me Do It

I finally snagged a Treasury on Etsy - they're a lot more difficult to come by than one might think. Sometimes hundreds of people wait until one becomes available and then it's almost like a free-for-all!

But, like I said, I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and give a little love back to the artists that have featured me and my work. Click on the image below to view until Sunday, October 28th.

relief from the madness of life

I don't even know what that means. I understand the words individually, but not all jumbled up like that, like in a sentence. Here's the Treasury where I found it - a pair of my earrings is featured. You can click on the image to view until Saturday, October 27th.

Heide has been a great supporter of my art and a fabulous "advertiser" via her Treasury's. I have spoken to her briefly, but always appreciate when she features my work! Please click on her banner to view some of her wonderful art!

Whozits and Whatzits Galore

Some great Whatyamacallits. A little bit of everything.

Artists not only create the beautiful portraits, dreamy watercolored floral arrangements, or stunning landscapes that adorn your walls. Artists paint, and sculpt, felt, collage, photograph - they are involved with functional art like pottery, glassworks and jewelry, clothing design and quilt making. Artists influence architecture and landscape, create company logos and branding as well as the commercial that accompanies that after the movie or television show you just watched that artists of myriad backgrounds came together to create. Because, that's what artists do - we create.

Among other things, I create sets of distinguishable wine charms and was very pleased to see my fishies featured in a new Treasury. Please click on the image to view until Wednesday, October 24th.

Pop-o-licious Art by Kris Jean created this Treasury and I am pleased to support her fabulous art, as well! Her art is distinguished by bold colors, contrasts, and lines! Always unique, always a combination of a lot of influences. Please click on her banner below to visit her Etsy shop.

Endless Obsession

For the love of color, and all the beauty it brings, no matter the shade.

I'm not the only one that loves autumn, enjoys the changes in the earth, the appearance of new vibrant and muted colors coexisting on the same tree branch. I found my necklace "Whirling Leaves", an Agate, Oolitic Jasper and dripping Citrine that inspired its name, in a fabulous Treasury. You can visit this Treasury just by clicking on the image below until Sunday, October 21st.

The Treasury's creator, Kris Jean is a member of EBSQ, WWAO and an excellent artist! Her work is extremely expressive and she is not afraid of bold colors and lines! Please visit her Etsy shop by clicking her banner!

jump start your eyeballs

As Heide Hibbard says, "My favorite eye-poppers." I think that pretty much says it all about the latest Etsy Treasury she created!

Click in the image to view this Treasury until Monday, October 22nd.

To Thine Own Self Be True

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
-- William Shakespeare

Actually, I am not particularly a big fan of Shakespeare. I think his dramas are tedious and ridiculously inflated examples of the human condition that I can find on a regular basis at home or on the public bus. And, Hamlet, while the surviving characters are definitely ironic, I find this piece particularly overly obnoxious. I do enjoy his comedies and prefer to believe he wrote his poetry for his homosexual lover.

However, in these words I find he expresses, in elegantly simple terms, the need for a person to be themselves. When the entire world has their own expectations, beliefs, and stereotypes, this task seems all the less simple. One must have courage, strength, will, and an unfettering belief in their person that they can display for themselves but for reasons of their own.

I was pleasantly surprised to find my Turquoise bracelet featured in Tracey's Treasury based on some of her favorite pieces by Etsy artists. Please click on the image below until Friday, October 19th to view!

Tracey Allyn Greene is a full time multi-media artist. She works in oils, watercolor, acrylic, on canvas, paper, and even river rocks! She is best known for her pet portraits - especially the freedom she incorporates in her pieces with cats (which she considers her personal muses. I have been lucky enough to see her work in person - and it was definitely even more wonderful than the photo! Please visit her Etsy shop by clicking the image below!

It feels like rain..........

A few days ago, my husband walked through the bedroom and whined to me, "I think it's going to rain." And, later that evening, it did. The Bay Area got a nicely needed dousing of water from above. But, after knee surgery, back surgery, jaw surgery, several other surgical procedures I won't go into (but let me tell you how adversity drives the artistic need!) I understand what he means. I, too, know what it's like to be a human barometer!

Which is why I found Heide's latest Treasury featuring my earrings so very appropriate and ironic! Just click on the image to view her Treasury until Monday, October 15th.

Beauty is truth, truth beauty.

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all ye know on Earth, and all ye need to know."
-- John Keats

As Tags Cats explains about her Treasury: These art treasures would have inspired Keats...enjoy!

She was kind enough to include a pair of my earrings - click on the image to view this Treasury until Friday, October 12th.

Today I discovered (delightfully!) a pair of my earrings featured in an Etsy Treasury. I just created these earrings for the new season - one of my favorites!

I LOVE the transitional seasons: Autumn & Spring. I enjoy change. The change in the weather, new blooms, fall foliage, new birth, slumbering earth.

You can view this wonderful Treasury until Sunday, August 7th - just click the image!
