I was happy to receive a message from Amanda letting me know she had featured my shop and art on her blog Ulixis Crafts. By far, this is the most thoughtful post I've seen so far - I hope you enjoy!

I've been crafty my whole life, and enjoy making a variety of things. When I was younger, it was drawing, then wreathes, dolls and beading. Now, my focus has switched to notebooks and jewelry.

"Where do I start? Staci custom made this set especially for me, and not only is it the most beautiful thing I've ever owned, it's the most beautiful jewelry I've ever SEEN, PERIOD. But if you're ehre checking out her feedback, then you probably have already figured out that she's an amazing designer, so let me tell you about the quality and craftsmanship. I am wowed by the clasp on the necklace. I've had several necklaces with clasps that weakened and fell open while I was wearing them - this clasp is guaranteed for that never to happen, since it's got this nifty little hook-and-click mechanism. Definitely worth noting. She pays attention to the little things. :)

Also, I got to know Staci a bit through our convos {when working on a custom order, she takes a LOT of care in drawing information out to see what you'd love. And is vastly successful in that endeavor, I might add.} and she's become a really good friend. I don't know what else to say other than that she is absolutely terrific, a gem of a gal, and is absolutely terrific at what she does. Buy from her! She'll likely have a famous line some day and you can say you've got a Staci Rose original!!!"

Custom Creations - Artistic Challenges

I love what I do. I love creating. It's a part of my being, just like my arms or toes - my creativity, need for artistic outlets is a physical part of me. (It may sound odd and artsy-fartsy but that is the best way I can describe this thing I've always known and tried to express...)

This also means I love creating custom pieces! I enjoy the very specific challenge of turning someone's vivid dreams or uncertain desires into the treasured earrings or perfect picture frame. So, go ahead, by all means, ask away!













I recently met a wonderful woman online that was looking for a necklace, bracelet, and earring set. I had picked out the following information from our brief email conversations:

1. I love earth tones, but bright ones...
2. ...I love your works with tumbled stones! They are delectable!
3. I like long earrings.
4. I like your bracelet designs the best...

5. Dangles please me.

6. ...I like shorter necklaces...
7. I like free-formed organic things that have to be touched.

And, this is what I made:

When I shared these images with their potential owner, this is what she had to say:

::jaw falls off:: I am speechless. All I can really tell you is I clicked on the pictures you sent me until I had the necklace with bracelet and the earrings covering both sides of the monitor screen, then I sat there and stared at them for about ten minutes, then again for another 20 minutes... It is quite simply the most beautiful set I have ever seen, EVER, and I am in shock that it belongs to me. Every other thought I'm having about it is coming out as a stutter. I knew I'd love it, but that is... undescribably scrumptious. Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!!!!!! Can't possibly think of anything else to say! I literally am speechless. And I'm NEVER that, as you may have noticed.... THANKYOU!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

And, while I'm not sure if a warehouse filled with zillions of my creations to be sold at Zellers and Kmart, Saks or Bloomingdales, a boutique in Martha's Vinyard, or artist to the stars is in my future - I think getting a message like that is an amazing accomplishment.

Fresh! Funky! Frames!

I have felt the urge to create some new picture frames and just got them photographed!



I found these great pieces for my friend's son. She has loved Curious George and I created this frame to give to her two year old son during the holidays this year. I'm not sure who's going to love it more!


I try to create frames with a sense of whimsy that compliment your photograph and not distract from it.


And, then, sometimes, I like to create something that I KNOW some little girl will love to have in her room with a photo of her friends or family next to her matching bedspread and curtains and dolls in the corner of her toybox.

Umm...I Think That's My Drink.

I've seen it a hundred times, the one guy that drinks WAY too much sauvignon blanc, starts acting like a jerk, forgetting his glass, drinking out of any wine glass that has some red liquid in it, turning off the guests so people leave after about an hour and your party is ruined.

All because you don't have wine charms.


Really, one of the niftiest little inventions that very beautifully wrap around your stemware and let your guests distinguish their glass from another's.


Whether you just forgot where you put it down or you've had eight too many, wine charms help you avoid the faux pas and enjoy yourself. And, if you do find a theme you enjoy for your wine charms, make sure they are different enough for the most inebriated to find their glass. Having eight wine charms with the same charm and the same color will only lead to drunken embarrassment.

Working My Little Fingers!

A friend in High School used to call them penguin fingers, because they were so small that if penguins did have fingers they'd be about the same size. Very small. I can wear those stretch gloves and not stretch them.

I recently received an order for 500 wine charms that must be received before October 1st (and I have to take into account shipping time!) and got my supply order yesterday afternoon. I've been working night and day to get everything ready and am having a blast.

Here's the design I came up with:

New Bracelets - Fresh Photographed!

I was actually afraid of making bracelets. Here's my tale of neurosis.

Molten

While everyone asked me to make bracelets and wondered why I didn't, simply put, I didn't want anyone to hate my jewelry. I didn't want anyone to look at my jewelry as a chore, annoying, or having to ask their significant other for help during an argument. See, neurosis.

I have seen too many people curse out their bracelets because they cannot get it on themselves. Or, the clasp ALMOST makes it and then, "d'oh!" it slips out and flips around your wrist and then the swearing starts. I never wanted anyone to curse, hate, look at with disdain - my jewelry. After all, it's a one-of-a-kind piece, made with love and sometimes long hours, that I believe was especially created for the special person that now owns it!

Savory

So, while a very small number of my bracelets use the lobster claw clasp I finally found the "S" clasp which makes one-handed closure so much easier! I feel much better now!
